XL-201 DVD Drive problem

Hi I bought a sony XL-201 last week. But there is an error symbol(? and x) beside the dvd drive letter in topology tree in the windows explorer. I can not eject the dis from the dvd drive and I have to reboot the computer in order to take out the disc. Is there anyone has this problem before? Is this a faulty?

Hi JoeySun and welcome to Club Vaio.

Go to Device Manager:

Start -> Right-Click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager

Expand 'DVD CD-ROM Drives' - Is ther a yellow ! symbol next to one or both of your drives?

If yes, double click on it and let us know the Error Code - if you have an Error Code 37, 39 or 41 we can fix it with a small Regisry Edit.

I have expierience something like this. I tryed to get a dvd out of the drive but when I pushed the eject butten ther came a window which says Drive does not work correctly or something.
What I did was to reboot the system and looked in the Control Panal Hardware. There was no DVD-CD drive listed so I re-search for new Hardware and the drive was detected and worked since then without problem...
