Wireless not connecting at all or not seeing my network all the time

Hi,

really have a problem here...

I'm trying to connect to my wireless router and there are two simptoms:

1. I cannot connect after typing my password, it says troubleshoot..., (restarting the adapter doesn't help) or...

2. My wireless network is not show but others are shown.

My Wireless switch is on, every windows 7 setting is configured okay, I'm not a noob, I'm an It Business Consultant, my drivers appear to be up to date, I have every update from Sony Care, on my two other laptops (HP and Fujitsu/Siemens both on Win 7) I have no problems connecting in the whole place.

Sony Vaio model = 'VPCF23S1E' on Win 7 Home Premium Edition (updated to date).

Please help, really starting to knock my head against the display

Hi OctavianG,

Just a thought but have you checked that the WLAN mode is set to 2.4GHz only?

Click Start, All Programs, and VAIO Smart Network or click the VAIO Smart Network icon on the taskbar.

Hi Rich,

The WLAN mode is definitely set to 2.4 GHz.

Cheers,

Just to isolate if this a wireless security issue, try turning of security on your wireless router and connect. Hopefully, if you can connect, then you could possibly double check the wireless security set like if its WEP/WPA TKIP/AES.

Good luck. http://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/vmware_happy.gif
