Welcome to ClubVAIO

Are you sure you have the correct key?

If so then try running the attached file.

Does this help?

I have tried this to no effect. I am using the correct key (my compaq is currently connected)but on the Vaio it is limited access, i have turned off the firewall thinking that may be stopping connection but that did not help. Any more help would be appreciated

What router are you using?

On your compaq look at the default gateway, ip etc and change your vaio to be the same. (turn off the wireless on the other machine) Do you get a full connection with this information?

I will try and give you a step-by-step guide.

I presume your Compaq is an XP machine and your VAIO is a Vista machine?

On the Compaq:

Start -> My Network Places

Double click on your connection.

Click Details on the support Tab

Take note of all the numbers.

On the VAIO:

Start -> type "Network and sharing center" and hit enter

On the left hand plane click on manage network connections.

Double click on your wireless adaptor

Click on Properties and say continue when asked by UAC

Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 and press the properties button.

Click on use the following IP address and fill in the information from the other machine. Click enter and restart the machine with the wireless off.

When it has started up turn the wireless back on and see if it connects.

Does it work?
