Why won't my vaio play sound?

When I first got my vaio the sound didn't play, but I was told to do something pretty simple and it worked, but it's happened again and can't remember what I did. (it isnt muted or turned on low). Please help me!

Hi jesssicalomax,

First check that Speaker/HP is selected as the default playback device.

Open Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab – Speaker/HP should have a green tick. If not then right click the device and select ‘Set as Default Device’.

If this fails to work then Open Control Panel > Device Manager > expand Sound, video and gaming controllers > right click the audio device and select properties. Make sure that this has not been disabled.

If neither of the above solves the problem then reinstall the audio driver.
