VPMLM.exe keeps running on Vaio VPCE 1M1E.  Any other experiences

This is one of the preinstalled Sony programs called 'Vaio Personalization Manager Interface'

VAIO Personalization Manager provides a recommedation feature to Media  Gallery, VAIO Content and for VAIO Location Search.  It appears to index all your media files and seems to use a fair bit of CPU power.

I have no information if this program is really needed if you don't use Vaio Media at all.  Can anyone else add any information?
