Vaio P will not power on using battery

Hello everyone,

I've been having a problem with my Vaio P for a couple of weeks now and was wondering if anyone here had some ideas - I have been unable to get any help from Sony via phone, email, chat or twitter, so thanks if you have any thoughts on it!

The problem is that the Vaio refuses to power up with just the battery inserted - the mains power adapter must also be connected and on. I would normally think this is a problem with the battery, but the battery holds charge (currently at 91%) and will charge when inserted into the laptop. I'd rather not buy a new battery until I'm definitely sure that it's the problem, and I would expect itnot to charge or hold charge if that was the case.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

That is the problem of my previous battery and I had it replaced after knowing that it was the cause. Try draining the battery if you can to see that it is your main problem. Buy a new one instead.
