I got this Vaio AR11M not up to 10months ago and now so so many problems. Sent it to sony a few times and they never did anything sent it back with the same problem. Also the battery is flat doesnt work any more and they said it would cost me £150. Crazy i know. I am so disappointed eith there service and would never get em i advice people not to. Go for a MAC. They are the most realiable.

I dont believe that Vaio are crap.. I think you are very unlucky since I still beleive vaios are good choice... As far as quality goes you got to be very unlucky but Vaio should support you properly if its a proper fault under the one year garuntee.
I personally will never buy a Sony again. And I will never recommend them to anyone simply because of how they handle their customers if you have purchased in store. If you purchase online at sony style they are very good customer service, but anywhere else even comet or ESPECIALLY the Sony store, they have gone so down hill....

I believe that Sony quality is actually very good...they now manufacture a lot more computers per any given time span than ever before and faulty units are, as a percentage, lower than in previous years.
Chinese manufacturing has come on in leaps and bounds in the last 2 years, but when you consider the sheer number of computers that they turn out, to be driven by "bandage on older bandage" American software, then it ain't rocket science that someone, somewhere is going to end up with a dodgy one.
That said, it doesn't help when that person is you and it certainly doesn't excuse poor after-sales service, it just gives it a bit of perspective.
If you've exhausted all the normal avenues of reasonable service without success, then I would seriously consider seeking legal advice from a solicitor. or, if you're poor like me, Citizen's Advice - they can advise you on consumer and media groups, as well as government bodies, which can help fight your corner.
Just don't give up, they have soooooooo much more to lose than you do!
I'm sorry to say but as much as i like the style of the brand i will never buy another vaio it's all smoke and mirrors,The screen is why i bought mine ,and that's why i love it but i know it's only a matter of time before it goes big time,and the battery life is disapointing.sorry .

honestly i know how you feel i've had my vaio since jan 07 and its been sent for repair twice and the charger has also been replace also MY screen hinge has come out by just opening and shutting the bloody thing 1more thing not that i really wanted it but i was supposed to get a free vista upgrade all i had to pay for was p&p i went to the site put in all my details and waited when the promotion ended sony decided to mail me to say my card details were wrong how fcuking slow was that:smileyconfused: all my other sony products work fine its just this laptop 😞 ................
