Im having some problems trying to play bluray movies on my Samsung HD tv through a HDMI cable. I have a Sony FZ11Z.
I have tried using both windvd and powerdvd. Every time i try to play a bluray movie on windvd it will automatically stop running and close just when it start playing. The same thing occurs on powerdvd.
I have updated windvd but still have no luck. The bluray movies play fine when watching them directly on the sony FZ11Z LCD.
If anyone knows why this is happening and have any ideas how to fix this, it would be much appreciated if you could let me know.
anyone have any ideas?
Sounds like it's a HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) error, sadly, I have no knowledge about this area but I am sure someone with the knowledge will be along soon. Or you could just post a ticket on eSupport.
I dont really understand HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) on an FZ11Z as there is a sticker displaying on it displaying 'Full HD 1080'.
You cannot watch 1080p movies on the laptop as the resolution is not high enough on the LCD.
You would then think, ok well it can display 1080p movies through a HDMI onto an external HDTV. But it now seems if HDCP is causing this problem then then it cannot display 1080p movies at all.
This really does have me puzzled?
Is your display set at 1920x1080? If not then this is probably why, as 1080p (progressive) and 1080i (interlaced) are in this size
thanks, i will give it ago. I will let you know if it works.
I tried but with no luck. I think i am just going to have to accept that it will only play bluray movies on the lcd for now.
