Recovering Vista on FE41M

Hi i have got a vaio fe41m and my windows vista is broken. I am thinking in use the recovery partition for recover my laptop.

Actually i have 4 partitions in my laptop:
· The Recovery partition
· The Vista partition
· The Ubuntu partition
· And a partition where are allocated my personal data, like music, etc...

I want to know, if i execute the recovery partition, i´ll lost my ubuntu and my personal data? can i recovery only the vista partition without delete my data?

Thanks

Hi dcordero,

As you have resized your C partition and created another partition (D) used for the installed Ubuntu, I'm not 100% sure to be honest but I think if you select C Drive Recovery (Recommended) then just your C drive should recovered.

It may be a good idea to back up everything first just to be on the safe side..

No, recovery should not touch other drives than the one dedicated for recovery. Correct me if I am wrong, but do you really run Ubuntu on your machine? If so, could you please tell where to get all the drivers for it?

About ubuntu. Yes i am writting to you now using ubuntu. All the drivers are installed automatilly. You only install the operating system, and all the device will work fine.

I have a VAIO FE41M too, and I completely remove Windows Vista and Install Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn). As dcordero wrote, all the devices work fine.

With Kubuntu you can download all needed drivers using Adept Manager utility. It is really easy. "...The desktop CD allows you to try Kubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of CD (694M) is what most people will want ot use...".
