Recording the TV with my VAIO?

Hey,

Is there anyway I could record my TV with VAIO VGN-FS515H laptop? It has a VGA socket and my TV is a normal one, doesn't have HD, just the usual SCART and AV sockets. I want to record myself playing my PS3 and Ive tried using a camera at a tv but its rubbish quality so I was wondering if there was a way to record the tv using my laptop. Thanks for the help.

Hi Josh,

The answer is "Not Easily".

The VGN-FS515H has no analogue Video-In, so you cannot import any analogue Audio/Video signals.

You can buy A/V Capture devices from manufacturers like Pinnacle Systems that will connect to your USB Port but most TVs won't output A/V signals. You need to check if yours can.
