When I bought my VGN-BZ11XN I remember reading that it could take DDR3 RAM even though it came with DDR2 RAM fitted. Does anyone know if this is correct? If so what type of DDR3 can I fit?

Hi Steve and welcome.
I'm afraid DDR3 memory will not fit in your VGN-BZ11XN.
Although your GM45 Chipset supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory, the memory slots are different.
Your DDR2 PC2-6400 is a 200-pin SODIMM and DDR3 SODIMMs are 204-pin.
They also have a different notch position and are different voltages.

Up to how many RAM can you get for VGN-BZ11XN? I have one, but I can't find any RAM suitable for it.

Hi tripodzid,
The BZ11XN supports up to 4GB of RAM (2GB per slot).
You will find compatible memory from Crucial.
