hi, i have a Sony VGN-N11S_W with the above DVD player and i can not play CDs or run bootable CDs. At the same time i cannot load PowerDVD to view movies. The CD plaer is listed as primary IDE channel with DMA available and current DMA MODE 2 setting as device 0
I have latest driver and firmware
laptop is running on Windows XP Media Center Edition, and have done system restore so many times without success. Should i replace the CD-ROM as it is not working. it tries to run but stops and continues to do so
