PCV-RX201

Hi All

I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX201 runnings Windows XP Home SP2.

I'm trying to replace the DVD-ROM drive that came with the system with a Philips DVD Rewriter (SPD2410BD). The drive is detected ok when booting up. However, the system runs
very slow and unable to read / write to DVDs

Any help would be appricated.

Kevin

I remember quite a long time ago reading that this sort of thng might relate to master/slave settings on the device. try checking what the jumper settings were on your old CD/DVD drive and set the new one to the same. You could also try plugging the drive into a different ide cable if you have a spare.
