As you can see im only getting 2.2 and 2.7 for Graphics which looks very low and also you will notice its saying the card has got 32MB graphics memory when it has 128MB.

Does anyone know how i can fix this, seems weird that its showing the incorrect information when i have the latest driver??

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Oliver,

I think the output is correct. The Go 6400 has 32 MB of dedicated memory and can reserve 128 MB of your main memory using the Turbocache.

I would have expected it to show 32 MB main and 128 MB shared (a total of 160 MB) but perhaps it can reserve more under Vista???

The Go 6400 is not a gaming chip and is designed for multimedia applications in small and lightweight notebooks and doesn't score more than 2.7 in gaming because it has only a 64 bit bus.

If it is really using 256 MB system memory you may want to increase the 1 GB of RAM (your Vaio can take up to 2048 MB) as that will only leave 768 MB for Vista and your Programs.

EDIT: Found this link Benchmarks Go 6400

Thanks alot for that Blencogo. Its really useful to know. I wont be able to get more memory at the moment as i only yesterday went from 512MB to 1GB and it has made a hell of a difference so god knows what 2GB would be like!

Is it possible to change the graphics card on my laptop?

Thanks

Unfortunately not, as the graphics chips are soldered to the mother board.. :slight_frown:

Hi!

I have a Vaio FS215S. I was reading this post for curiosity, since my grafic card is also a GO 6 series, and I would like to know wich aplication did you use to get this kind of "classifications"? Thanks.

Regards.

Hi Luís Martins,

It is the Windows (Vista) Experience Index.

To view your computer's base score (assuming that you have Vista installed):

Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Performance Information and Tools.

If you don't see subscores and a base score, click Score this computer.
