Norton Symantec

Hi All I'm the new proud owner of a Sony FZ laptop which has Vista Home and a 90 day trial of Norton Symantec. I've set myself up as a user with a password, but Norton insists that I'm not the administrator and won't install some of the updates. The manual states that I should set a password in the bios and then a user - do I need to delete myself as a user and just use the bios password? Every time I log on Norton wants to go to live update - and I just go round in circles. Any help gratefully received  Also, I can't type anything in the body of emails using Outlook Web Access. Any ideas? A google search seems to imply that it's the fault of my server provider and they need to install a patch, but I've found one or two other websites which don't display correctly (using pop up screens). I've tried to permit popups, but it's no go! Thanks for reading!!

Take this as a hint from norton.

Uninstall it - norton is hostageware, also - in my subjective experience - you'd be more secure by typing in wellies.

Then install AVG Free, which is free, doesn't use 1gb of ram, doesn't crash, doesn't slow your machine down, and will make your life better.

Getting norton pre-installed on your new computer is like buying underwear that has been pre-soiled. Sony has to stop this idiocy.
