CD drive problems.....

Hi,

I want to make a back up of my recovery disks, however when I insert the cd-r's my machine (VGN-FS115Z) just spits them back out and asks to me insert a recordable disk.

The cd/dvd writer installed is the DW-D56A which came with the machine. There are no errors mentioned, I have tried different disk brands, checked that I have the latest updated drivers and uninstalled and reinstalled it but there is still no change.

Has anybody any suggestions.

Hi,

I think from reading various messages on the forum that my cd/dvd drive is dead. If I were to have it replaced could anybody please tell me of a good one which will fit a VGN FS115Z or should I not bother and just purchase an external burner?

Maybe it does not like the disc type. If you are doing a recovery set you are better off using 2 DVD+R. Have you tried those instead?
