No analogue ports on Click To DVD

Hi,

I am trying to capture analogue video using the Click To DVD program supplied with my VGX-XL301 (Vista). The first couple of times I tried it, it seemed to work OK but now the program is not giving any analogue source selection options (only i.LINK). I know that the tuner cards are working as I can see the analogue video when viewing live TV in Media Centre. My current version of Click To DVD is 2.6.00.11281. Anyone have any ideas, please?

Even with the Media Server running I can't see an analogue input device. Anybody successful following the Sony recommendations from the arcticle above ?

Yes I have heard back from sony engineers saying that the hardware and software might well be OK - but that I will have to use another programme to input analogue as click 2 dvd and my pc may well not work together. This does not sound an acceptable response - why would they bundle (and pre install) software that is not compatable with the pc - I am about to phone them yet again to see if I can get a reason for my problem. The pc (rc 202) is only a couple of months old - has been to the service centre for replacement cards, had all the software reinstalled on a couple of occasions, no new software installed (I will only do that when I am happy that every avenue has been tried to get tis damn thing to work properly) - do you think I have good reason to be dissappointed with this pc.

I am also very frustrated with this. In my case it is definitely not because Click to DVD and the PC don't work well together.

I have tried three other software packages with Video Capture facilities, and none of them see the analogue inputs.

I tried Click to DVD on its own first (straight out of the box with no 3rd party software). I have since tried Nero Video, Cyberlink Power Producer Gold, and a free piece of software called Arcsoft DVD. None of them works.

One of my main reasons for buying this PC was to archive my Video Cassettes and get rid of them! What a waste of money.

I'm still hoping that Blencogo's query will bear fruit - but not holding my breath!

Still very frustrating, but I guess I've given up on Sony now. Very poor service.

The fault is still logged as outstanding.

All I can do is send a reminder and hope for some response. Have Sony suggested taking anyones Vaio in to look at the problem?

If not, I find that a little strange.
