Hi all
had a new sony laptop with windows 7 for about a month. worked like a dream for three weeks and now have major issues.
First noticed when I plugged my iPhone in to transfer some pictures, and the computer couldn't detect/recognise the phone's existence, in any of the USB ports. I then had the exact same problem with my external USB hard drive. The 'device plugged in' noise plays, but nothing more. I get the device drivers installing message pop up, but then the 'unable to install device drivers mesage' and nothing is any better off. They both worked perfectly until a couple of days ago. Also strange that iTunes can detect the phone but windows explorer can not.
I've noticed today that my built in webcam is also now not noticed, no idea why. evernote just launches but no sign of the webcam.
With a bit of googling, it seems lots of people have issues with their USBs and windows 7, and there are myriad solutions online. I've tried a lot of them, and none of them have made a difference.
