Hello Vaio Users!,
I got an AR31M with Windows Vista Home Premium installed, Windows Vista runs ok and all applications run fine but.. when it comes to games I just have bad performance..
Core 2 Duo T5600 : 1,84 Ghz 2MB Cache
Geforce 7600 Go : 128 MB Dedicated Vide Memory, 484 Shared Video Memory.
2.048 MB RAM : 667Mhz
160GB HDD : 4200 RPM
If I look at these specifications i'd say it would be a nice laptop to play games on wouldn't it?
I have installed several games and on the "Ultra High" settings my FPS is just bad.
LOTRO : Ultra High around 10~15 fps
Flatout 2 : Ultra High around 8~15 fps
Command and Conquer 3 : Ultra High around 8~16 fps
How can this be? Do I have wrong drivers? Is it the shared memory.. or is it Windows Vista? Or is it just crappy hardware? I really don't understand..
I've done a clean install updated everything all buttons and functions work.
And still im getting low fps and just fps (downward) spikes when some more things happen on the screen it just flies back to 1fps and it just freezes all games, it's not just these new games.. Please help !
Thanks,
Ikk
*EDIT* Even when I put some games on High or Medium I still have bad FPS */EDIT*
As far as this is a notebook, not a multimedia workstation, you shouldn't expect too much of it. Thoug it is strange why powerful enough machine scores so low in gaming.
Update
I've heard that Sony downclocks it's graphic cards with GeForce Go 7600 GPUs. Not sure if true but possible. It would explain why your machine is so slow. Try checking GPU and Memory clocks.
hi m8 it wont be the laptop at fault it is windows vista not alot of things will work on it
and when they do not verry well
vista has what they call bugs that cause problems
install all the updates from sony on the update icon and if no luck then get the beta drivers from the sony site (or install xp)
