Hello,
My Sony Vaio has just broken and I'd like to know if I can still claim the warranty.
I bought my notebook in Brazil on 17th of December last year, can I claim it even tough I didn'i buy the product in the UK?
Best regards,
Fernando

Hi Fernando and welcome.
Did you register the Vaio in Brazil? I think the Vaio MUST be registered where it was bought.
However, have a look at the Vaio International Repair Service website which will give you a phone number for a repair in Europe for Vaios bought abroad - +32 (0)2 200 3700.
I do not know if this applies for Brazil but look at the USA website for information here: -

Failing that, try the Sony Brazil website for warranty information: -
Good Luck!

I didn't register my Vaio in Brazil when I bought it. Is there any way i can register it now via internet? I still have the receipt saved in my e-mail in canse I need it.
I entered my serial number on support area from the UK website but it didn't work. Tommorow I'm gonna call the UK call center number and see what can I do.
and thanks for the quick response, I'll post again telling the news.
cheers.
I called Sony Vaio Support and they said im no longer covered by warranty. I thought all notebooks were covered by at least one year. How come I'm still covered in Brazil (where I buy the product) but not here in the UK?
I no I can fix it in Brazil cause I call them up there as well, but I can't send my notebook all the way there....
