How to unlock the dvd region ...

Hello did anybody knows how to unlock the optical drive for diferent regions, my laptop [ar51m] came with dvd region 2 and i want to play also dvds from diferent regions, i try with free region dvd but did not worked.
Please if you have any ideas about or if you find the solution to unlock the region settings, post it.

Hi aurelsonbad and welcome to Club Vaio.

Check which drive you have - I suspect it will be a Matshita Drive.

As far as I know, no Matshita Drives can be made Region Free. Matshita is the OEM arm of Panasonic and the Matshita drives are packed with DRM and no revised RPC1 firmware exists or is likely to be released.

You will only have 5 opportunities to change the region before the drive will lock.

yes it is a matshita uj220s , if i knew that i can`t see movies from diferent regions i was choosing a diferent brand, that sucks big time.
