How can solve NVIDA Graphics crashes?

How can solve a NVIDA Graphics crash?

I have a VAIO notebook model VGN-NR21Z with the NVDIA Geforce 8400M GT GPU the driver date is 19/09/2007 and its version 7.15.11.5665

Over the last few days my screen started failing showing green & white chequers and then fuzzy and the failing leading to a reboot.

i ran some check tests and this shows it is a problem with the above NVIDIA graphics driver.

I have tried updating from system devices but it tell me i am running the latest version of the driver. Is this true as it seems old? 2007?

I seem to have effected a partial repair as it is not happening as often but i am still getting blue screen failures on a fairly regular basis caused by this driver.

Any help gratefully received please

Hi bigh141,

The original graphics driver for this model is 7.15Q - 7.15.11.5665 dated 28/02/08 and apart from a port replicator graphics driver update (Graphics Driver (DisplayLink) 4.5 - 4.5.13507.0) there is no Sony released update available.

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-NR21Z_S/downloads/EP0000164453_4065

If uninstalling and then reinstalling the driver makes no difference it could be a hardware problem.
