Harddrive setup on AR41S

Hello,

I want to modify the partitions on my ar41s (2x160GB), but in the explorer I see 1x308Gb.
How does that work (I´m not asking about the size)? Why is there only C (I would expect c & D or C with 160GB if it was a Raid 0)? I want to use Acronis to change partion sizes. Has anyone experioence with that? Thanks for your help.

Andreas

Because of the RAID configuration of your VAIO you only have one drive, it stripes data across the drives. You can therefore only change the size of the main partition and the recovery partition. You can of course create a new partition on the drive or even change the RAID configuration.

Hi,
I found that out at the moment because the partition programm ignored my last change. So I understood that I "only" have the 160GB and a raid0 already. Im happy with that, it works very well so far. thank´s for help.

btw: Updating failed, I didn´t know that its not possible to upgrade vom premium to business.

Have you tried clean installing it from the upgrade disc?

Hi Andreas

You can Create or Resize Partitions with Vista Disk Manager, have a look at the guide here ..
