I need to change the IRQ of certain devices as it would appear that my audio interface is sharing IRQ 16 with the graphics card and the cardbus port and it frequently crashing / dropping out / losing sync. On previous machines I have been able to do this via the BIOS but the VAIO's BIOS is basic at best - can you gain access to a more advanced customisable BIOS or do I have to try and change these settings elsewhere?
Thanks
I don't think you can do that in XP like you could in 98.
ACPI HAL controls resource assignments in Windows XP and does not permit user intervention. Even if you could change from Auto in the BIOS it would not work!
