DVD eject button failure.. PLEASE HELP..

I've had this problem with my AR11M for months now. The eject button on the keyboard does not function.. It makes a beep when it is pressed so i know the button registers, and the drive ejects via right-click in explorer so i know that's fine too...

I made a call to Sony and they told me re-install the Utils.. I downloaded and reinstalled the ones suggested to me.. this did not work although it did fix the volume buttoms which had the same problem.

I guess my question is: Which Utils specifically control the CD/DVD drive eject because it's such a ball-ache having to re-do them all.. Could anyone suggest which ones i need to be looking at??

Hi arsecheese,

It’s the Vaio Event Service utility that controls this, but as it has dependencies I suggest that you install the following in this order:

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. Vaio Event Service

Then re-boot. You may find that it will be necessary to repeat this more than once…
