Desktop fade-away

While I am working on my VAIO the screen fades back to my desktop. Where can I even begin to seek a solution?

Hi. Can you add more details on this? I'm thinking about windows aero here but I'm not quite sure yet on what you mean by fading back to your desktop when you work on something.

I mean that the screen image reverts to my desktop image while I am working on other projects. I have to swipe at the mousepad to bring it back, but even that is no guaranteed "fix". This is extremely distracting when working on detailed graphics or composing an essay, for example.
