Can anyone suggest ways of connecting my (oldish) camcorder which is a Sony Mini-Handycam DCR-PC101E to VAIO AR21S so I can edit and burn tapes to disc. I've tried to re-install the USB driver and it seems OK but laptop still doesn't recognise Camcorder. Any ideas would be welcome.
does your laptop have a firewire port? and the camera a DVout port? you will need a cable with correct sized ends. i think the usb connection is for any mempry stick in the camera. not for tape download. alternative may have S-video link and cable?
Your AR21S has both, firewire and S-video connection. So you just need to get the right cable, as Irene suggested. I would recommend to use the firewire connection.
