Clean Vista install (dutch language)

hello all,

I'm wondering if it is able to install only the OS on this laptop. (VGN-FZ11E)
I have the recovery CD's that install Vista in every language I want including my mothertongue Dutch, but it also installs those VAIO applications. Now I only want Vista in Dutch on this Notebook. I also received a Windows Vista CD (Windows anytime upgrade) and with that I only can install Vista in English.
Can anyone help me?

Prob: Only want to Install OS in Dutch, NO OTHER APPLICATIONS !

Greetz Klaas Govaerts,

Thanks in advance.

Hi Klass Govaerts and welcome to Club Vaio.

Boot from your System Recovery Disc and follow the normal procedure for a Full Recovery.

DO NOT INSERT THE SECOND DVD WHEN PROMPTED TO INSERT IT.

Instead, Reboot your Vaio and click 'cancel' on the message which pops up asking you if you want to finish the recovery process by installing the apps.

You will get this pop-up message every time you start up. To stop it go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Task Scheduler.

In task scheduler you should have three windows, Overview of Task Scheduler, then below this Task Status and finally at the bottom Active tasks.

In task scheduler go to the bottom section of the centre column (called active tasks)

Double click "Vaio Application Recovery" and in the new window select 'Delete'.

i reinstalled my laptop, and didnt do the Application reecovery like you said. but still there are VAIO things on it, like the Cam thingy, and a norton demo and Office Demo. and also those Adobe things.

I use a 4.7gb DVD as recovery CD, so i use 3 discs, 1 is System recovery disc 1, then disc 2, and the last one is Application Recovery.

I dont get it :s

I think that must be as close as you can get to a clean install without purchasing a new Retail or OEM version of Vista.

You cannot use your Product key on a non-Sony OEM Install. The Product Key for Vista on the bottom of your Vaio is not a valid key for activating Vista (this is because the Sony OEM Version of Vista will NEVER require you to input the Product Key. The only real solution is to buy a retail version or to uninstall whatever you do not want from the Sony installation.
