I have only had my Sony Vaio for 2 weeks but the CD drive has stopped working. I looked into device manager and there is a yellow warning triangle and exclamation mark. I did the diagnostic test and it said " no optical found".
What should I do? Is there some way I can fix it or is it totally broken?
Thanks

Hi JJGoog and welcome.
This is usually fixable!
Please Double-click on the drive in Device Manager and tell me the Error Code number.

yeah the DRM copy protection is a nightmare for optical drives. try a system restore to a time when it was working. If that fails then go back to the device manager and right click on the exclamation marked device driver and update the driver while connected to the internet. also try diabling and re enabling it.
Hi, have you found that error code yet? It will probably be something like Error Code 39, 37 or 41.
This can usually be cured with a five minute Registry Fix, but I need the error code from Device Manager.
