I finally got Bioshock working, hurray!
The reason it wouldnt work initially is because i was trying the beta drivers on the bioshock demo before i bought the actual game. The demo will not work no matter what you do.
But i borrowed the full game from a friend, and downloaded the modded beta driver and it works fine now. The game does have to be run on fairly low settings to get it running smoothly which is a little dissapointing but hey - at least it works.

The hotfix listed in the above post also helps.
One other thing to point out is that this driver will need to be changed back to the original at times as it isnt very stable. If you output to to an external monitor it will display in black and white and it does not like playing bluray movies.

I installed it fine on my machine and it really is the best written game
I have ever played. The worst thing about it is that it ends.
