A61M wont play blueray disc on high def tv

Hi

I am the proud owner of the AR61M, I decided it would be nice to see what blue ray is like so scurried off to HMV and got a new disc. It plays on the vaio but when i put in the hdmi plug and tell the tv to go to that input the film stops dead. The tv is a new Toshiba Regza and as far as I can see no updates are available. My elation for high def is now disappointment.

Has anyone experienced this and found a solution. By the way I did a search on the forum but any search returned no results for this subject but that i do not believe.

Hi pb21 and welcome to Club Vaio.

Two things to try: -

1. Press Fn + F7 to toggle the display to the external TV. The BD copy protection (DRM) will not allow two displays to be active at once so you need to set the TV as the only display for HD content.

2. Have you got the latest version of WinDVD BD installed. There is an update WinDVD BD 8.0.9.301 (25/01/2008) available for download from here: -
