Sub titles remain on tv screen too long

I am operating a KDL-40EX401 via a SVR-HDT500 Freeview HD Recorder.

My problem is :- Sub titles remain displayed on the screen far too long (often for minutes or until new dialogue is displayed).  I am unsure whether this is a set up issue or otherwise.  Can someone please advice?

certainly not a settings issue and to be honest this does'nt happen during normal programs, i only ever experienced this during ad breaks but thats down to the broadcasts and nothing to do with your Sony kit.

Thank you for your response. The problem I have described is just not a one off event. It has been occuring for the last 2 years and is always present. i.e Not a glitch. Repeat ........ whenever sub titles are  'on'  they remain displayed until such time as new dialogue is spoken (often, this can be for many minutes) be it programmes or adverts, it doesnt make any difference.  I will await to see if any others in the community have any suggestions, if that is unsuccessful I will contact Sony.  However, thanks for your interest.
