How can I fix or turn off automatic picture sizing?

My Bravia KDL32EX653 automatically detects changes in the aspect ratio of the source, and adjusts the picture size, but always to Full, which is the exact opposite of what's needed, say, when an ad break ends in a programme shot in 4:3. Is there any way to fix it so it changes to the correct aspect ratio for the source feed, or failing that, to turn off the automatic picture size adjustment completely to make it manual only?

you should be able to set it in Settings/Display then scroll to screen and change it there.
