Internet connectivity lasts for a few months and then goes again. I do wish I'd bought another TV, however, any ideas, other than what is on the Sony support pages, would be gratefully received.
Hi there,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
Can you give me the full model number of your TV?
Best wishes,
Sean
Hi Sean,
The model number is KDL-32WE613. Do you need any more than that?
Best wishes,
Krystyna
Could you tell us what happens when it stops working (if there's an error or something similar)? It could also help to make sure that you have the latest software on your TV.
Hi Joe,
Many thanks for your reply.
When I try to access iPlayer, or whatever, I'm told to check my connection, the result of which is that I'm told that the wireless device on my TV has been found but that local access failed and internet access failed. so that I have to set up internet access all over again. Quite apart from this being a hugely tedious exercise, I have problems with the remote (I bought another one, which is better but still not ideal) and with my fingers, due to a medical condition, so that it takes me several goes before I can succeed. I've tried 3 times this time round but cannot bear to try again for the time-being.
I'm on automatic software updates and do have the latest software on the TV.
Basically, I just don't understand why the connection keeps failing.
Hi Flonia,
I agree it does seem weird, but I did manage to find a page that suggests some steps if you encounter the exact result (Found/Failed/Failed) on the Sony website here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00090419
Also, I recommend double-checking the software version with the latest one (v8.464 I believe) as it seems that some TVs struggle to receive the update at the same time since there are many TVs out there and the connection issue you have may also have something to do with it, you can never be too sure I guess ^_^
Hi Joe,
A thousand apologies for my long silence but, not long after your posting, I managed to fracture my hip and, whilst I had my iPad in hospital, I wasn't well enough to use it for anything other than essential correspondence.
I hadn't actually found the page to which you referred me on the Sony website but had done all the things they recommended and had also triple-checked the software version. Anyway, after several attempts, my sister and brother-in-law finally managed to restore the connection while I was in hospital; I just hope and pray that it doesn't go again.
Thank you SO much for your help.
