Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Lulz, Mine seems to have this problem, when I'm looking at emails, I can see a faint yellowish at the bottom of the screen near the touch buttons.
I've had it three weeks!!!
Spoke to the store, they will give me a replacement on Saturday. No Doubt will have the same problem in a couple of weeks, no?
It's nowhere near as bad as this though:

I've also got the same problem with the yellow tint, Im from the UK and bought this mobile in March from T-mobile. Do you think they would still replace it if I tried to return it. Also, are the replacements free from the same yellow tint or do most models have this problem?
Thanks
they should replace the screen

Hello everyone!
Today i tried to heat my display phone with hair dryer to make glue dissappear. Bat. temp reached 52 celcius!
However, there are no results so far. Will continue my experiments.
Anyone solved this problem or make it dissappear after some usage?
Thanks.
Just a quick update:
I had my handset replaced about a month back and a few of us noticed that the newer panels have a warmer (more yellow) overall tint in general to them.
Since receiving the ICS update it appears the developers have adjusted the colour temperature to give better (cooler than before) whites, at least it seems that way to my eye.
I've bought my Xperia S the 24th of April 2012, and I started noticing yellow tints at the bottom of the screen about 2 weeks ago. I also have an issue with the gyroscope on games like Nova 2 and 3, the gyroscope is cosntantly turning right and so I can't use it.
So today I decided to get it fixed. Sadly I couldn't get a replacement unit right away, mainly because at the Sony Store in Paris (France) they didn't accept to serve me because I didn't buy the phone at the store (but online) and redirected me to a generic mobile phone repair center that jst send the units to the manufacturer (Sony).
So sadly I've to wait for 7 to 15 days, according to them, for it to be fixed. Hopefully I've an old iPhone I can use in the interim.
I'll keep you posted a few months after the repair to tell you if I see the issue reappearing or not.
This is solely for Xperia S owners in Singapore.
The main Service Centre at Bishan Junction 8 is re-opened on 29 June 2012 after renovation is completed. I have just sent my phone in for service on the yellow tint. 3 working days wait. Please remember to backup your data as they will wipe all data & factory load in ICS. You will also lose your screen protector as well.
So far the techinician claim no one return after repair. Hope all goes well. Will update after my Xperia S is collected.
I got yellow tint now after 2 and 1/2 months after buying on bottom just right to middile touch button where home touch comes...it happened i think phone when heated up during charging to 100% n when i removed from charger it was about 10-15 minutes from fully charged... it disappeard after it cooled down bit... So will i ask for repair
Collected from Sony Service Center in Singapore after 3 days in the shop. The new screen compared to the old one is more warm. Backlighting not as bright. Since it's more warm, the yellow tint issue seems to be eradicated but I do not think so. I believe this new screen has it's colors adjusted so on white, the whole screen looks a tint yellow. Nevertheless, they not just only change the LCD panel. It's the whole front panel including the plastic casing all around the screen. Upgraded to ICS without carrier's app.
My verdict is that this yellow tint issue is inherited as there are basically two type of LCD, the yellow one and the blue one, which Samsung uses for their Galaxy. Since I choose this phone, might as well accept it till Sony decide to find solution to address these issues.
Just hope they don't delay JB as Samsung had promised SG3 will get their's in 4Q (sounds familar? No specific date)
