Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Hi gwhispererz. I appreciate ur concern to help other here but trust me while reading ur posts it sounds like u trying potect sony policy on this issue.

Hey one of the guy persuaded 3 to exchange his phone. Can u tell us more abt this cause I contacted them and they said its not possibl
Can u tell us in more details. Thanks
Need some reply from sony as well.
Come on sony.
As an update as to how things are going here in the UK, O2 are committed to exchanging my xperia s in a doorstep swap, however, it appears that they are doing a lot of these at the moment and a lot of people are awaiting new stock to arrive. o2 advised me this weekend they are expecting stock tomorrow (Monday 16th) and I should get a call from them then. It sounds like Sony were/are talking to O2 about this and other issues (as I understood it).
I do feel I was lucky as O2 will swap the phone within their warrenty period of 1 month, I spotted this issue only a few weeks ago and rang them straight away, I do have the yellow spot on my screen and I have had to wait for a replacement phone to arrive at o2 before they can book the exchange over but it does mean I'm not without my phone!
I shall update the forum once I get further news and also when I get my new handset. One other thing I have noted is against my blackberry in low signal conditions (in the basement of a Church) I could get a phone call out on my Blackberry but the Xperia had no service what so ever.
Hi Markus , I'm from Malaysia .. For your information i have send my xperia s to the service center 2 week ago due to the yellow tint issue.. Can i know how long will it take some more.. Why can't SONY just replace a new set instead of fixing it.
A service errand should not take more that 10 working days. If it takes more that 2 weeks you should contact the regional support office and see what can be done. The repair routine is highly controlled by local laws and for this reason it differs a lot from country to country. The support agents at the regional support office will know more than I do and they will have the latest info available too.
I bought this product from VietNam(March 26th) .I found that my phone has a problem with the screen.
When I use or play games for a long time, the screen has a yellow tint (at bottom screen, near touch keys). It makes me so frustrated.I had called +84 1900 1525 - VietNam Sony sevice center, they told me that they can't make my product warranty because they do not have any replacement parts(for Xperia S) at this time. They suggested me to wait for one or two months more!OMG,what's wrong with Sony?I was so disappointed about the warranty service of yours.
Sup folks, so I'm getting my baby tommorrow, read alots about the issue with yellow tint, I heard somewhere it said the phone cannot go over 40c.....Since most of u here own S already, I have a question.
For those who play alots of game(gameloft ex.) 1: It came as black and gain the yellow tint when hot right? 2: Does the tint fade over time as it the phone get cooler?
Hi,
I'm also coming from Vietnam.
As far as I know, almost first order users are facing this Yellow tint issue.
I bought my XperiaS end of last month (26-Mar-12) & I discovered the problem since one week. I called your authorized customer support center yesterday morning (+84 1900 1525) & the answer is " wait one or two months".
Wait for what? Wait to get the phone repaired or wait just to get the answer " wait for 1-2 months more"????
For me, it is not acceptable at all. You pay for your official/authorized customer service center to repair your products or just to answer to your valuable customers that he has to wait??? Now I understand why you lost 6.4mil USD last year.
For your information, in my family, we own many your products (01 LCD, 01 LED, 03 walkmans, I myself used P990>W800>K850i>W550>XperiaS) but this is first time I really disappointed.
A lot of crazy Sony fans like me will give up next Sony products with such bad warranty service.
Obviously, the problem comes from your bad quality product as you confirmed, so cannot ask us to wait. If you don't have spare part to replace, change the new one for us, why we have to wait?
Please take your responsibility & correct action as well.
I'm looking to hearing from you soon.
Feel fee to contact me at my email address: lmcuong4u@gmail.com
I believe that they don't have the solution to this or no spareparts available since it affects almost all their phones...thats why I said its best for us to wait until they have the solution...
The yellow tint issue is there but it varies.....depending on your luck...
It will be from not-visible/hard-to-see state to clearly-there/everywhere around the screen...hotter phone will just make the yellow tint clearer and it'll get back to normal once it cools down.
Some people doesn't really have a problem with that and some find it disturbing...while some find it a waste of money on a defective product...Let's just hope that they have a different batch for you out there so you won't be getting this problem.
Let us know once you get it tomorrow
Hey guys,
Here are some questions I came up with to clear up my curiosity!
---Does the yellow tint worsen? (I.e having the temperature above 40 degree for a long period of time)
---Is this problem common? if so, is it dependant on where it is manufactured? Is this problem preventable?
---What are the chances of me purchasing an Xperia S that is affected with this problem? is it more common in Asia than it is in European countries or in the US?
---What if I bought an Xperia S from Taiwan (not from Sony store, but from reseller), and bring it overseas (to New Zealand) realizing the Xperia S has yellow tint (heard that the yellow tint problem starts to appear after a few days/ weeks), would I have international warranty?
---When will Sony New Zealand officially start selling Xperia S? (I.e. I can find someone professional to fix the phone)
And that's about it! Thanks!
