Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

i'm aware of that and went through the screen test showing red, green, blue, moving rainbow color and white.

and the yellow tint issue can be clearly seen in white color, but not red, green or blue or rainbow on my device.

so based on what you said, my phone has "AAAB" printed above the 12w08, first 2 letters would be AA and display test on white background showed the yellow tint around the screen...definitely won't be passing their check

and if they still said it passed their check...there IS a problem with them:smileyconfused:

With the above info to go from my new handset is touch fw 7 and hardware AB and stool appears strain free.  Unfortunately I can't check what my original handset was.

Hi Mr.sony remember I was tell you,I had replaced my screen in Taiwan local support team two weeks ago.At the beginning I though the problem is solved  but till today the same thing happend again.sadly I don't know what should I do now.

My handset touch fw is 7 and hardware AAAB...shown yellow patch.

Seems like SONY is just letting us to say or write what we like here  and  don't want to do anythig good for us.

You are right.

In my opinion the XS is just a place holder for the first true Sony phones. Codenamed Hayabusa and Mint.

The XS was the last product Sony and Ericsson made togather so Sony is just doing enough to buy some time until the first true Sony phone is availble.

i still have tint and touch fw is 7 and hardware AA as well, everything spot on including yellow tint...

OK, today I used Sygic GPS Navigator for 30 minutes (with charger in car), It hit 48C, a very light yellow tint appeared around the screen then it disapeared, if it's only like this better to live with it because I see some people here with newer versions but have dead pixels!

Well I will see if the Yellow tint comes back and get worse I will return it back, but I don't like to play the cat & mouse game! I'm tired of testing and don't like to keep exchanging my new fancy phone!

Like I said, there is no good quality assurance of LCD screen from Sony. I pretty much like the industrial design of the phone but the screen problem of xperia S really traumatised my user experience. Imagine you anticipated this phone for months, get it because you love it, not because of it's monster specs. After 1 week, you sent it to service center and wait for months full of empty promises. That's how the new phone and flagship phone user experience of Xperia S begins.

It's like your teacher at school told you deserve an A due to your loyalty and your good support for homework but in the end he gave you a C. You went back to her, she said she made a mistake and promise to correct the mistake and give you what you deserve. In the end, you still get a C or B or D BUT never an A. How can you not lose your faith after all this?

Too much of side talk. Anyway, just be sure to check your screen carefully whenever you receive a unit of xperia S. Probably check all the possible things, speakers, capacitive buttons...it goes down the list. 😛 Do all the checks by yourself, quality control is the responsibility of customers nowadays 😉
