Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

as long as the screen shot captured that, it's confirmed that's the theme's doing...try to change the launcher...you can get free launchers from google play once you downloaded it you should be prompted with launcher options everytime you press the home button. choose the new theme and you should expect something different.

"Dead pixels are consider normal when they are a few"...how thoughtful and considerate you are to say this. Not everyone is lucky like you to enjoy dead pixel free phone.

that's what they told me when i showed them dead pixels on my phone...quoted that from them actually...

why bother to think of yellow tints issue or throw your phone to the ground or turn your eyes away from the yellow spotted screen, when initially you're the guy who said, "Oh i can stand with this issue, i just use this phone to email and text."...when everybody finds this problems unacceptable. 😛

The topic of discussion here is the technical flaw of the phone, not base on your personal preference.

and now it's off topic to point my different point of views...nice try but i'm here because i have this problem and i'm seeking for a solution, not a protest on sony and none of us can accept it but it's not something that'll kill us anyway, and quote me about the waiting part as well, don't quote just the first part...

I should response to something topic related, 20 pages is kind of long to follow now....

did anyone else notice that this discussion has been marked with a correct answer given? that would explain why there's no moderator/admin/supports to attend this discussion.

That worked - thanks a lot.

I'd like to test 40 celcius to check yellow spots, grateful if you tell i) from where i can see the temperature and ii) how long does it take to heat the phone to 40

Hi All... just wanted to update the forum on my experience.  O2 have now swapped my phone over on the doorstep, I had a 12w10 before (date code 2012 week 10?) and the replacement is a 12w14, so far, after much trying to get it hot and checking for even a minor colour tint, in 3 days so far I have failed to get it to show.  Looking at other forums and news reports it loks like it is an extensive problem and was down to a manufacturing problem which has since been rectified.  It looks like it was also more than just a 'few units' mind you I suppose when your talking millions of units 1% is still a significant number!

All in all, although it has been a long wait (albeit I did have my phone throughout) I have now got a fault free unit (for now!)

I'll come back if it reoccures!

I don't think that's the cause of the yellow tint, it's part of the theme and shouldn't cause damage to th LCD. I think is possible that heat (not properly insulated) from the chip underneath the display is doing damage on the LCD.
