Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

To Markus or any of the Sony team,

Tomorrow I am going to be sending my Xperia S to the service centre in the UK, as it has the yellow spot or hotspot on display. I would like to know is it best to send the phone back in it's original box with orwith all the accessories? The email I had earlier from Josh when speaking to him on the phone, mentioned to put the phone in jiffy bag with charger. If I do not need to include box how is best to protect phone from possibly getting damaged when in jiffy bag when I post it??

Many thanks

Steve

@Steve1970 - You would be best to check back with the local Sony team regarding this as there are differing policies from region to region.

@eyadnawas - The easiest way is load up a completely white screen on the handset and if you have the problem it should be fairly obvious.

@r41n - Unfortunately the standard warranty terms apply so any outside of warranty repairs do come at cost.

I bought the xperia S in Hong Kong on 10/03, the screen problem started to appear after a week, the yellow tint appears at the middle of the bottom of the screen. And i find the problem is more serious. Now, the yellow tint appears on the edge of screen. I spent HKD$4998 to buy a new phone which the brand is SONY!!!  My requirement is Hong Kong SONY customer service provide the complete phone exchanged service. Please!

Due to the on-screen yellow patch issue, I had sent in my handset last Sunday (1.4.2012) and was told that it would take "at least 3 working days or more".

10 minutes ago, I received a call from Bishan Junction 8 SE Centre telling me the spare parts have not arrived and it will take another 7 to 14 working days!

WTF...

I'm starting to wonder if SONY actually have solved this issue yet.

It doesn't sound right to make me wait this long!

OMG! Is this true? I sent my phone to Junction 8 on 1st April too!

I don't have any phone for 4 days already! And my micro sim card is idling inside my bag, without doing anything.

This is really bad to spend money to get a new phone but you can't use it for at least 2 weeks or more.

It really gives you a lot of worries.

Is it good to take the phone back now from the service center and only send it in again when they have spare parts? I have been making a few trips to Junction 8 already.

Good Lord Sony Xperia! You're letting me down!

I visited my retailer last sunday. Then they didn't know about the problem yet, but said they would contact sony about it and asked if I could come back later this week.

In the meantime they spoke with sony and called me back. They will send my phone in for repair without any cost. So mine will be fixed, that should solve the problem.

Dear Sony

Plz answer these questions

I appreciate d fact that  sony admitted their faulty screen. To be honest it is dissappointing because my brother was planning to buy xperia s next month from Qatar. Sony, i just want to know how many units exactly have this problem worldwide. Becoz i dont want to be the unlucky 1 to have that faulty phone. Are all the faulty phones called back or not??

What steps sony has taken, explain in detail. I told my brother to delay buying d phone to avoid buying the faulty phone. If u can reply the answer to my mail amit_thakor@hotmail.com would b better. 2400 riyal is a lot of money u knw that.

Hi, I've got a yellow spot. The phone has the following build 12W10 (10 weeks). Passed the phone to the examination. Q: Have you notified about the problem of macular shops in Russia? Asked the official Sony service center of a yellow spot, but there is no one knows anything ...
