Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Not to my knowledge, no. We have not recalled any product.

It should not happen again and I do not know from where this person got this information.

We are replacing the displays with new ones that do not have this issue. Either this or the phone will be swapped to a new one (if e.g. spare parts are not available).

Hi, there. It had been 4 days I had my Xperia S back from the service center. Everything just fine in these few days. I'm quite happy to use the phone now. For ETHAN, how much time the service center at Junction 8 need to repair the phone? I hope can hear your good news soon. For MARKUS, if later on the phone have the same problem again, can I still get the screen replacesment? That's all from me, I hope to hear some good news from everyone here.

I'm happy to hear your phone is working now.

If you get the same problem again, please contact me as soon as possible. Here or PM doesn't matter. I've received very clear information saying this should not happen again so I don't think we have to worry about it. Slightly_smiling_Face

I bought the xperia S in Hong Kong on 10/03, the screen problem start to appears on 18/03, not only the yellow tint at the middle of the bottom of the screen , i also got a bright ring around the screen. When I make a call to customer service hotline ( ~28/03), they said there is no spare part for exchange / repair, nor replacement for the phone. Today when i go the the service centre and check for any repair/ replacement, they just ask me to keep the phone at the service centre and wait for spare part for around 2-3 weeks.

What kind of service and product is it.

I spend HK$4988 to bought a new phone with defect without any repair service/ replacement service, and the repair centre request the customer to keep their new bought phone in the repair centre and wait for repair for 3 weeks( 1 year warrnty = 1 year - 3 weeks or more ?????).

This is the first phone made by " Sony " , if the company really want to share the smart phone market, please do somthing for the customer. Both quality check and after service are important factor to retain customer and attract new customer.

I'm sorry to hear this. This official response/guideline on how to handle this problem was not decided on March 28th which probably is why you got that answer.

I suggest you contact the customer service/contact center once more now that we have this solution in place. Have a word with them and see what they can do to help.
