Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Good luck dingga!
FYI, Sony HK suggests to replace the LCD for this issue (if you are very doubt on it, they keep their stand point as this is "normal"). The "yellow tint" problem still persits in the handset after some users got their LCD replaced (Sony claimed they replaced the Mon...)
We are now considering to make a group complaint to the local Consumer Council but I don't think HK's regulation could protect our rights as a customer. Sigh...
My Xperia S is a black version. The guys who called me yesterday said that they only got the spare part for the white Xperia S, so i have to wait for the black version spare part. If they still don't get the black version spare part this Thursday or the lastest Friday morning. The will replace me the new white Xperia S handset. I told the guy that I'm here (Sigapore) working for only one month time. I have to go back to Malaysia on 31 March.
I am from Hong Kong and also suffering this problem. From my experience, the screen yellow tint or spot will only appear when the phone or battery heats up. Now if this is the case, I think is not the screen default but is a matter of QC (Quailty of the manufacture) problem. It does sounds like is the Glu marks that they use to stick the screen to the phone. Why? Simply is the fact that when heat is present, the glu mark will be more visiable on the screen, When the phone is cool down, you will hardly see the marks, but that doesnt mean is not there, is just because it becomes harder to see. A simple way of saying, those people did a bad job at gluing the screen, and they didn't fix it and just simply saying" who gives a shit". This is a very bad experience for me, since I really do trust Sony a great Japanese brand. Japanese people always take their things (products) very serious and not like this. I just cannot accept the fact that Sony will make mistakes like that.Perhaps Sony should start thinking if they should still let their products manufacture in "CHINA". If they are going to continue this path, a lot mistakes will keep on coming in the future. To me, I can seriously tell you this, I will not mind paying a few thoundsand bucks more to get a Made in Japan product, because they can really give us users a confident feeling. "Sony, It's time to wake up!!!" and Hopefully they will really takes this seriously and start making progress on solving the problem.
glu?? arey you sure?? my handset is made in china too...
I'm contemplating returning my second Xperia S as I am still not entirely satisfied, as I have a yellow tint running down both sides of screen. I think it is a good chance that this problem is due to the glue used, and if I remember rightly iPhone 4 users experience the same thing.Thing is I could go into where I bought my phne and exchange for another but there is no guarantee it will be any better than the one I already have.
I have the same problem for my Xperia S, I only use for less than 2 weeks (bought on 17March)
As i said you guys are so lucky can change or replace the hanndset... for me or some of the user in asia may not so lucky. the only way for me is bring the handset to the service center and wait for the repair. My phone had been in the service center about 5 days already. I really miss my phone, if fact i really like the phone very much. cms228 me just like you only use the phone for only 2 week...
i really like the design of this phone, alots of expectation and have been waiting for 3 months for this one (I was thinking to get Galaxy Note before XS came out) but after you know what i've been thru (http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/173172#173172), you may start wonder if this phone really came from Sony, only the design but nothing came after, bad after sale service (i was told I have to wait for a months to get the mon replaced becase they DO NOT any spare parts since it is so new)
Apple get a high reputation not only from the design but also their after-sales service (they had problem with their antenna but you can do a FULL refund no matter where you are). In Hong Kong, after 7 days, no refund, no replacement but only repair and god knows if the repair could fix up the yellow tint problem
i have nothing more to say but only can do is wait for the handset come back from service center without the same problem. If any problem come again it will be hard for me to travel from malaysia to singapore just only to repair the phone. 2 more days i will be go back to malaysia.. but my phone still in the service center and wait for the spare part
hi 1st of all im from malaysia. i also have the exact same problem. i noticed it after 3 days of use i can even see the yellow spot when browsing it through gallery so u can imagine how bad it will appear on white background. i went to sony service center and they said they cant replace it even when this phone is not even 7 days old.
So far they left me with only 1 option to send the phone to repair and unfortunately dont they even have spares to make it possible. they ask me to leave my phone no and will contact me when the parts arrive and its already a week.
i have been waiting for this phone since it was announced and never thought i could be so disappointed. i can take minor cons on this phone but this is major and shouldnt happen!
