Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

OK, we have an official response on this now. I will just paste it here so you get in word by word.

Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. This is limited to a small number of units and the cause of this has been corrected. Any consumer observing this slight yellow tint on the display of their Xperia S is welcome to contact their local customer service centre and Sony Mobile Communications will resolve this at no cost to the consumer.

Any questions? This response basically says it all but I will try to help if you got any queries.

I have this problem as well, It more noticable with the white screen but can also be seen with a blue or green screen, though its more like a light bulb shining behind the colour background rather than a yellowish smudge when on a white screen

There are quite a few people with this problem on other forums, if Sony could come with a "yes its a hardware problem, or a software probleme that will go away with an update" would be nice

Hmm...

that is disappointing, i am now awaiting my handset coming in next week.:smileysad:

having second thoughts now! Thinking_Face

do tell if there is any solution to this issue.

i think the best solution(just my opinion sir) is to try your handset and test it as soon as your phone arrives then after 2 hours of playing or maybe surfing the net check for the lower right corner if there is that yellow tinge/tint, and if there is you can ask for replacement. i'll be going to the shop where i bought my phone and ask for replacement tomorrow. i hope things will be fine...
