Hi,
just got my xperia V last monday. based on its specs on sony's website it has 8GB storage capacity. But when i checked it looks like it only has 5GB. is 8GB not fully user-usable? Does anybody know about the storage of xperia V? Please explain. And another thing I want to know, how can I check if my phone is fake or not?

check thei Xperia V's white paper

Memory: 8GB eMMC*
* Memory comprises 1.2 GB of firmware, 2 GB of “Phone memory” for downloaded applications, and
about 3.7 GB of “Internal storage” for music, pictures and movies, and some application data. For a more
detailed description of the different types of memory and how they are used, see .“Memory in Android™
phones” on page 16.
correction: I tried to connect on pc companion. It successfully detect my phone and when I checked the storage it says that my phone only have 3.71GB. I don't know where's the other more or less 5GB so it will be 8GB.
what if you go to settings > storage
Heres what inside the Setting>Storage:
Device Memory total space is 1.97 and Internal Storage total space is 3.71.
and some of the memory is for Android, its normal
So the internal storage is not totally 8GB because it is partitioned? what about when I checked on the pc companion it says that the memory is 3.71GB. Is the 3.71GB the only memory usable by the user?

You can see how much Internal Storage is available under Settings > Storage > Phone memory. In the Xperia™ V, about 3.7 GB is available as Internal Storage. In the Xperia™ V, the three areas of persistent memory (System Memory, Phone Memory, and Internal Storage), together with some small memory allocations for system operations, share 8 GB of built-in eMMC memory.
Just read the white paper guys,it explains everything.
