Xperia U doesn't turn on, help please?

Hi there, I was just using my phone and when I tryed going into Whatsapp an error message came up telling me that the app has had to close down, i tried accessing it again to no avail with the same messege popping up, I killed the app but it still would not let me into the app so I thought I would restart the phone. I did the normal procedure of holding the power button and selecting it to turn off.

This is where im having my problem as I try and turn it on the Sony icon appears and then the Xperia one but then it goes striaght back to the Sony logo. I've tried connecting it to Sony Bridge but it won't connect (note that the xperia has always had trouble connecting to the software as I am using a Mac and when it does it does take time)

Help would be very much appreciated.

I cannot power on my phone

  • It might be that the battery is drained. If the battery is completely discharged, the phone needs to charge for a while before the battery status light is lit. Charge the battery for at least 30 minutes, and then turn on the phone.

To turn on the phoneTurning on Sony Xperia™ U

    1. Press and hold down the power key Power key of Sony Smartphone on the right side of the phone until the phone vibrates.
    2. Wait a while for the phone to start.

    Also Try Restart

Restart your phone to turn off all running applications and to remove memory blocks. Remove and reinsert the battery and the SIM card. Then restart your phone.

The battery doesn't seem to be the issue, it was at 60% when I turned it off. And through the battery bar you can see when the phone is off it is still at around that level. taking out the battery and sim has not helped.
