Hello all,
Will it ever be possible to unlock the bootloader on the AT&T branded Xperia TL? I just bought this phone, and I am willing to wait if it's possible in the near future to unlock the bootloader. But if this AT&T nazi-esque oversight is really determining what I do with MY phone, I am returning it, 100%. Please respond if you have any information on unlocking the bootloader, or any future prospect of doing so.
Thank you,
Mike
Xperia TL (model LT30at). Sofware version 1265-1567_7.0.B.1.152)
PS If this is a matter of someone needing to hack around the tyranny of AT&T, I will pay good money to whoever has the skills to figure this out. I'm serious. Nothing crazy, but depending on how quickly it could be done, I'd be willing to pay $50-100.

I got the TL too but I'd flashed the T's firmware just exclude the baseband so the LTE will work

you can't unlock it, networks request OEMs to lock the bootloader, Sony won't be able to help you, why do you want to unlock it? is it to root it? or to flash a custom ROM?

So I wanted to unlock it for both of those reasons. I just figured out how to root it last night. What is the advantage of having the T firmware? Aside from removing the annoying AT&T startup. Also, in the thread you sent below, is excluding the baseband part of the process or is that something I would have to know how to do on my own?
Thanks for you quick response
excluding the baseband its something you will have to uncheck on flashtool. you also get rid of all AT&T bloatware and you can tether w/o them blocking it.

So, are you saying you would flash the T's firmware if you were me? Or that you have flashed the T's firmware on your TL excluding the baseband, and everything works fine?
yes to both, I have the Xperia TL and Ive flashed T's firmware as soon as it was done downloading, I was playing with the TL w/ all AT&T's bloatware and it sucks, you can make a backup and if you don't like it flashback, and yes my LTE works just fine I get 10MB-12MB up and 4-6MB down
