Xperia T receiving duplicate texts messages?

Had my phone 2 months now, but noticed i keep receiving the same text message twice, either straight away, or about 5 minutes apart. Doesnt happen all the time, but about 4/5 times a day.

I contacted my network who told me they havnt seen this for years, a 'mobile station error' where my phone doesnt always send a signal to my network to say i recieved it

They just told me to reset it, which i did, took it back to factory settings.....which worked for about 2 days, but i just received a double message again

Please can someone tell me if they no a fix, i really dont want to have to have the hassle of sending it back and wait for a repair

I am a telecomunication engineer. I asked my teammates to track the issue for me.

Guess what? It's not operator's issue

He showed me some traces between Phone and Core network. Corenetwork sends me CP-DATA (SMS) and the phone SHOULD send him CP-ACK (that he received the SMS). but instead of CP-ACK, the core receives CP-error, meaning that he fails to recevive acknowledgement from phone. That's why he sends again the SMS, which probably will succeed and you will recevive 2 sms or fail again and probably you will receive 3 messages.

I have the same problem with my experia L. I'm from the philippines and my network is Globe. So it's definitely not a network problem, but a defect in the handset. I don't get the same problem with my iphone.

I’m sorry but I am unsure what further assistance I can provide here. I have advised on more than one occasion that if you have gone through the troubleshooting provided to confirm that it is a phone issue and a software repair  has not resolved the problem that you would need to send the phone into an authorised repair agent for assessment.

I have not received one duplicate text, since upgrading to Xperia Z1

Still not 1 duplicate text on either of my Z1 handsets. There is no way I would not have received many duplicates on my XT handsets in this timeframe!

You will get dups of text messages if you have not clicked on them as android has a feature that will constantly notice you about them and makes it seem like they are dups.

Still not 1 duplicate text on either of my Z1 handsets. What are the chances of that!!!!
