Xperia SP when on phone call screen will not come back on after

Hi,

When I make a phone call to somebody this works fine until I want to finish and hang up the screen does not come back on, I have only had the phone for 24 hours so unsure if this is a software fault or a hardware fault.

Has anyone else had this issue and have been able to sort this out, any tips or suggestions would be much appricated.

do you have an extra protective film or a protecting case that might be blocking the proximity sensors?

Hi Have not taken off the screen protecter as of yet as I am waiting for a case to protect the screen.

when you say, screen protector what do you mean? there is a pre-installed ASF (Anti Shatter Film) and Xperias come with an extra plastic on top of the screen, is that the "screen protector" that you are referring to? the plastic with some instructions?

When i first got the phone their is like a plastic screen protector on their I? have not took this off yet, do you thisnk that this could be the problem.

I have also spoke to sony on live chat and they have suggested that I do a factory reset and if no joy, then i need to re-install the software on the phone via pc companion.

I'm almost certain that the issue is that plastic

my suggestion, lift the top part > cut the top part about 1cm, that should be enough

Thank you that seemed to be the problem I just moved it from the sensor and works fine.
