Latest available software

You may already have the latest software, depending on the date of purchase. Software updates are released at different times depending on operator and/or country. Therefore, we cannot give you an exact date for when a specific update will be available for your device.

Android version: Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean)

Latest available software: 12.1.A.1.205

Release started: 2014-06-10

Although 4.3 is the latest update, if its not available on your device, most likely it was not approved nor released by your carrier/network.

Have you tried updating your phone from OTA(over the air)? If it doesnt show any progress, try reinstalling the PC companion for Sony. And try clicking the "check for updates" again.

I have the Sony Xperia SP C5306 Model that I bought from Fido.

I see online that there is a firmware update that was released with build number 12.1.A.1.207 (http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/01/xperia-sp-update-12-1-a-1-207-now-rolling/), but it doesn't seem to be available yet in Canada or for Fido (http://support.sonymobile.com/ca-en/xperiasp/software/).

Will firmware update 12.1.A.1.207 be available in Canada or for Fido sometime soon?  If there is no planned release, can you help me understand why other regions/operators are getting this update and not us?

I have a sony xperia SP, as you must have realized from the title, and the phone shows a firmware of 12.1.A.0.266. However, according to the main website there shows a latest update of 12.1.A.1.205. I've tried first accessing "Software Update" via the settings menu but it shows that it is up to date. I even tried to hook it up to my PC and tried to "Check for update" via the Sony PC Companion, but the same result. 

I've searched around and many users have the 205 update. My phone is just not updating and the SP is lagging too much. Somebody...please help.

Welcome to the community.

As the update is customised by multiple parties before being released it may not yet be finished for your particular handset.

Once the update is customised by Sony it would then be passed on to your service provider to make any required adjustments for their network.

Please be aware that if your handset has originated outside your region this can also cause a delay in the release.

Once the software is ready to be downloaded on your unit, you will receive a notification on your phone advising of the option to update.

is your phone locked to a network carrier? if so you can ask them if they have released the update to your phone.

Thanks you for launch Xperia Series.

We know that day to day all application are getting heavy and taking huge memory due to feature and funtionality. I have Sony Xperia SP (C5302) and I am using this since 2.5 Years but don't have much money to purchase new phone so my question, Is there any facility to Upgrade RAM/ROM for this phone? If not, then you have to think about it becasue all have not so much money to Purchase new phone.

Pls Sony i beg you to atleast update the Sony Xperia SP to kitkat, if lollipop then thats better but atleast kitkat, older devices are getting lollipop yet The xperia stopped at 4.3............I know i can root but i want to stay stock
