To Spiderbezno,

I live in Andorra too and I'm experiencing the same troubles.

Do you have received any solution from Andorra Telecom or found any other workaround?

Thanks,

Hi,,

I am also facing the same issues with my Xperia S:-

My wifi is not turning on ,however the button turns to silver while trying.

My auto rotate screen is not working

My phone automatically restarts whenever my backlight is turned off.

Now i have increased the backlight timeout to 30 mins so that atleast my phone remains active.

I had also contacted the service center and customer care but they are saying that there is problem with the motherboard and i have to replace it which will cost me around half of the price of a new xperia S.

I also tried repairing the software , resetting the phone completely but nothing happen.

If anyone know how to cure these things ,,pls share............:(:(:(

Wifi never worked correctly on this model.
Sony never cared and left it in a crappy status.

Continuously restarting wifi is known bug.

searched everywhere but still no solution in sight, not a patch, not a word from Sony or from Google or from Qualcom. My syster lives in Andorra and of course she as the same isue, if I put a french SIM card, there is no problem at all, everything works fine, if she commes to france the phone works fine too, the only problem is when she with the andorra sim card get back to andorra, I had to downgrade her phone to ICS so she can use it "normally".

Some say to root the phone and downgrade the Qualcom wifi/bluetooth driver and see if it wirks.

The problem here is that not everybody is a geek and they don't want to take a risk and brick his phone.

SONY PLEASE CARE AT LEAST A LITLE ABOUT YOU "REAL" COSTUMERS, THE ONES THAT GIVES YOU CREDIT AND TELLS OTHER PEOPLE TO LEAVE APPLE OR SAMSUNG.

I have the same problem as you guys. I've tried many SIM cards and it doesn't work either is from one company or the other.

I've got my phoned rooted, I've tried installing the stock ROM from Sony, installing Cyanogenmod 10 and 11 , Carbot ROM, Pacman ROM and  many others, none of them could fix the problem. Sometimes, here and there the wifi starts working for a while, but most of the time the connection if off and with wifi bottom disable.

So that, I guess it is kinda hardware problem.  I called to Sony support and they answered me, to try fix the problem through PC companion.

Sony please, give us some true advise of what is causing this problem, letting the people have the oppotunity to fix their phones!! JUST TELL US WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM!! AND DON'T FORGET THAT ALL OF US SPENT AROUND 400-500€/$ ON THIS BUGGY PHONE!!

I am from Belgium and in Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, wifi works as it should be.

In Januar 15 in Andorra at different places where wifi was free , wifi was nopes on the Xperia S.

I could also not switch between wifi on and off. The program must be killed.

Wifi worked well on my Medin Netbook under Windows 8.1 at the same places

When i returned in Belgium, everything was OK again.

Now in March, again no wifi in Andorra afther many trials at different places. 😞

A real mystery.

My 2 cents and excuses for my poor English.
