Hello!
I've bought my XperiaS maybe a month a go,worked fine on GingerBread.I've updated it quickly to ICS when it came avaliable for my country (maybe a week ago) and all hell broke loose -.-
First - memory usage was insane even though i had maybe 2-3 apps (teamviewer and something else). It didnt bother me actually since it worked fine
Second - after couple of days walkman started to crash, fixed itself somehow (?!?!?!)
Third - now it's stuck in loop.
As far as i can remember my battery got drained and i didn't put it to recharge immidiately cause i didnt have my charger with me.
Came home, put it to charge and let it rest for a while...when i tried to start it (XperiaS) after chargin' it just got in loop and wont do (to excuse me) SHIT - just turns off and on all the time.
Since it's weekend and everything is dead (operater doesnt work and if it would they are prolly not educated to help me) i'm putting my mobile phone issue in your very hands.
Thnx for help in advance, sincerely yours Zvonimir.
***NOTE - the phone wasn't rooted or anything since i dont need it,works fine on basic software.

Francis : God bless your soul. Thankyou very much !!! It worked but i have to say i am begining to hate Xperia!!!
Thanks! Having searched and searched, this post finally did it.
I knew about the loop my phone was stuck in but had no idea how much battery was left. I had a feeling that the dodgy settings were in the boot process even before the kernel takes over the charging. and therefore I didn't know if using a charger was actually working. I was very stressed!
I followed these instructions to the letter with one difference and that was to keep the volume pressed by wrapping a rubber band around it tightly. I left the phone and pc to re establish things, it started once and three quarters in it failed.
I tried again and left it to it, went and watched telly to keep my mind off it. (There was no connection when I left itmaybe ten mins) an hour later it was done! like magic the planets had aligned and it was done!
I don't believe in the planet thing but do believe in patience, if the tech guys say this takes time it probably does.
Saved my bacon. Thanks again!
How do I work it out on a Macbook, many thankssss!!!!!
Download sony bridge for mac and repair.
I have the same problem with Xperia Sola 😕
I went through the steps up to step 9, but when I try to connect my phone holding the 'volume down' button I get no response from the Companion... can anyone please help?
I was having same issue, with reboot loop. And i had a lot of info on my phone, so flashing was not an option.
Since my phone was out of warranty for long time, i disassembled it and took out battery, waited for 10+ seconds and assambled it.
Yay! My xperia S worked again!
PS, just be shure that you know how to disassemble xperia, becouse there are a few tricky spots in there.
